    Nice. Is that a volumetric light or a post effect?
    Love the style of your picture gallery btw. Very fast!

              Greebles are fun, but can i ask Richard why you do so many, testing perposes, client renders, or just 3D madness ?

              nice image ..

                            Hey guys;

                            I do the Greeble stuff just cause I love the results of the very fine detailed shading. I find it to be a gorgeous application for abstract artwork. And of course, it has so many possibilities that you can never run out of ideas.

                            Originally, I DID use them for GI testing - it's great for testing speed and quality. Artefacts show up in creases with some rendering engines

                            As for the technical stuff, it's just simple layers - volumetric is simply done with scanline renderer. There are probably around 12 layers - glows, optical color effects, speculars, shadows, etc. It's mainly playing with lighting.

                            The visible grain is due to the levels which I had to boost (too much).
