3ds Max 2008, Vray, Digital Fusion

Recently I had the opportunity to work on some personal artwork again. I'm finding it harder and harder to find the time to do these little projects. I spent 3 evenings working on this one. The first night modeling, second texturing, and the third night lighting and compositing. This render was created for fun, but I did use it as an example on my latest Gnomon training DVD. If you want to check out the tutorial you can link to it in my signature.

    Thanks for viewing!

A bit too blue for my taste, but the composition is great, and there are some impressive details in there.

    Best regards,
    A.

          Great image Tim.
Even better are your DVD tutorials. I have always found them informative and packed with production tips and tricks.
Your latest Compositing DVD explained Premultipled in a very easy to understand way. Even I understood it after the 2nd viewing!!!
Thanks again and look forward to your next DVD release.

            Very nice image.
            Very realistic look.
Could you post a wireframe shot? I'm curious how you did the little dents in the first arch.

I will post a wire as soon as I get a chance. I don't normally do this, but those chipped edges were just painted in photoshop. I normally cut in all that detail but I didn't have time on this one. I've also started doing chips like that with displacement which can look pretty nice too.

I'm in commercials, but people bounce back and forth quite a bit. I've done both commercial and film work since I started there. Its a different sort of pace and workflow to get used to, but so far I've been enjoying it.
