  • HELP - too much noise

This is my first venture using LWF. I still need to tweak the overall light intensity. I have posted my current WIP image and my settings. I cannot figure out how to get rid of the noise in the image.
I'm using the "M2" gamma workflow from vlado's post. Is noise more of a problem going to this? Usually these settings are fairly noise free.

I'm using IRR high preset/LC 1200. I'm using the quadratic AA. No environment lights. Vray sun and sky, with a mix of some vray lights and PM lights.

Overall light intensity is pretty much your problem. The GI can only work with the light its given, so if you don't have enough getting to the room ANY render engine is really going to struggle to give you a good result even with a heap of samples.

For the glossies on the floor, try setting your DMC max to 8 (maybe up to 16 but I usually get away with 8-12), samples adaptive amount to .95, threshold .008 and min samples to 8. I have no reasoning behind these settings, only that they've always worked for me

Try it with the Universal V-Ray settings:
