I'm looking for some suggestions to take this image to the next level. I'm curious to hear any suggestions regarding the render in either pre-render or post.

I forgot to change the DMC sampler settings last night so the small noise I can get rid of, but the one thing that is currently plaguing me is the large noise in the GI. I can't seem to get rid of it, and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend what settings I should be playing with to get it under control. My initial reaction was higher interp. samples for the irradiance but it hasn't gotten to the level that I would expect yet.

I've attached the render and the settings for review, and any help is always appreciated.

What's going on Kitts? I think I see your problem for your GI. Its in your DMC sampler settings (like you were talking about.) Your adaptive amount being at 1.0 won't blend any of your GI. Pull that down to .9 or .85 and hopefully that will rid you of your big GI washes. I'd also pull down your light cache sample size. 1' seems pretty big for an interior space. Its its just a still, I'd go back to screen and put it at .02.

Another comment, which may be client driven, is about the baseboard. The bump on there is pretty serious! Can you pull that down a bunch to make it look smoother?

Other than that, it looks good. Nice framing, and very nice job comping in the woman in the skirt!

hmmmm, That was it...I thought I had heard somewhere that you could take that up to 1 which made it 100% adaptive, such that if you left it at .85 (default) you weren't getting the full blend..... guess that was wrong, taking it back down smoothed everything.

I played with the sample size on the lightcache after fixing the DMC, and it didn't seem to make much of a difference..... but you're right that was a bit high.

As for the comp, can't take much credit for that one, she's an AXYZ character (she's actually in the scene).... so she better blend in well. I typically put one or two 3D people into the scene at a distance (and facing away....they're ugly!) as a scale figure then once the render is complete add the rest in post.

Baseboard needs attention, the funny thing is the floor is actually a porcelain tile that is formed and colored like wood, and then it wraps up the wall as well. But I did just realize that the UV map is vertical instead of horizontal, we'll give it a spin and drop the bump a bit.

      Thanks for the help/crit peake!

No problem. Glad I can help. I think you "can" have the adaptive amount at 1.0 if you have some crazy amount of samples. Having it high enough where you can actually render it and faking it in with some smoothing is the best, though.

As for the woman, i thought she looked like checkered-skirt-woman, but she looked too good. Probably because you didn't turn her towards the camera!

That'll look nice once its all done. Post a pic if you get a chance.
