How would you solve this problem with an animation?

simply render to 32bit linear and tweak in AE or as a batch in PS

          open EXR in PS
image-adjustments-exposure (tweak the gamma and exposure to your liking)
if u dont have extended PS version, convert the layer to 16bit to be able to unlock it
now u can do whatever with it

its also good if u render the exr to include all the necesary layers in it and then use something like proEXR to bring it into the PS....unsure whether CS4 is capable of opening EXRs with multiple layers???

you gonna be unpleasantly surprised...the correct opening of EXR in PS fails again...look here

              http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...t=44257&page=2

you will have to buy proEXR to open it correctly or pray that the adobe fixes this (doubt it)
