Stunning. What was used for the actual modelling? The detail is superb. Seems hard to believe it was done with standard Max tools, did you use Rhino perhaps?

                      Very well done!
I guess one of the most difficult things would be to understand how this complicated watch works in order to animate and built it.

I have done an animated watch, but i just randomly placed and rotated the gears because i wasn't able to understand it.

                      You can watch it here:
                      http://www.videograph.de/d/2347
                      Reflect, repent and reboot.
                      Order shall return.

I just mean there's some pretty nice complex beveled curved edges in there, in my experience pretty tricky though not impossible to achieve in Max. Don't use it myself but from what I hear Rhino is apparently better for this type of work (product viz).

Rhino is perfect for a model like that, you could do it in half the time it would take in max. (assuming the bevels are modeled and not edge texes - if it was made with sharp edges they'd take the same amount of time)

Incredible work on the ani - took a bit too long to get to the watches gimmick for my likling, but I loved the whole rotating face section in the second half.

Congrats. Great work. I like your showreal...the music reminds me of an American 70's cop type programme.

Did you not get cad models for this watch...you must have had some good reference if not..
