  • Exterior house visualization

    Hello!

Long time no post, just wanted to tell that we are still alive and for once in a long time doing architecture again.

This is a series of 3 different houses plus a plan of the entire new neigborhood all in all 8 images.

C&C please, and feel free to ask about anything

    Hi Martin

    looks nice.

The grass appears to be a little too long and the trampoline is floating.
Mother and daughter could use a little color adjustment to better fit in.

very valid comments. I would also move the sun either left or right. Its currently right over your head hitting both sides of the bldg the same amount. Kind of a lighting no no.

Get the mower out of the shed

Get the mower out of the shed & cut that grass....lol you are going to get snakes it's so tall. And has someone been practicing their chainsaw moves again.....where are all the trees???? The landscaping really needs some improvement...it has a 'vacant lot' feel to it....a bit trailor-trash. More plants & trees!! It's the only thing you can use to make 'Simple Box' style houses look nice.
Try getting more shadows in the scene as well...it the client doesn't want trees in the image then put a tree out of shot just to get shadows in the scene.

        All the best

HAha there are already trees around, notice the shadow coming from left - Though the long grass makes it a bit too soft.

I thank for the coments so far and will have a "redo" tommorow. I am not quite sure about the big no no though. In this scenario it is important (to the client at least) to tell what masonry is used, and it get well lit this way.

          Will update tommorow evening =)

I can see the tree shadows but the definition is a bit lacking. Vray Sun-sky-physCam seems to give the best definition with this sort of shadowing. Using a direct light for the sun seems to loose shadow definition too much. When I first switched to using the Vray Sun-sky-physCam setup I was so shocked at how much darker these shadows got that it took me a while to adjust to it 'visually'.

            Hope this helps

Since you mentioned the masonry, it's got some repetition going on.

Grass is looking better. Personally though, I'd stop sneaking around the bushes to get these shots. This kind of framing always bothered me.

I think a plane of grass with a house on is, excuse me, kind of boring.... but constructively, please tell me how to make a boxy house interesting if you are to forbid me to use vegetation?

Vegetation is not the same thing as crouching in the bushes though. Instead of 'showing off the buildings', the renders are more 'spying on the family'.

Just crop the bottom part of the image if theres too much blank space.
Get some displacement on that brick too, even if it's subtle. Aside from those points it's not bad for what you've had to work with.

Hell yes! Have a look at this really good free software for generating bricks.
                        It works very nicely.....

                        Regarding the update

Shadows looking much better in first image although I would put the shadows towards the back of the house ....currently the image is drawing your attention to the right hand side & out of view [because it's brighter & also the camera angle....try making your front porch/balcony the center of attention.

                        Regarding Sun positions.

Is there any reason you haven't told the client to 'mind his/her own business more when it comes to producing the eye-candy. Does he or she have years of experience working in 3D, photography & graphic art.....no!! Tell them there is more to life than bricks...lol There is nothing worse than people with absolutely no idea telling you how to do your job [see post http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...ad.php?t=45954

I am sure you can still represent the bricks as they are meant to be while getting more exciting lighting just by moving the sun off to one side slightly.

                        All the best
