  • Gamescapes #001, Super Mario World

When I moved in the beginning of 2008 I wanted something on my empty walls and decided to create a series of images. I decided on re-creating old landscapes from 2D games in 3D. This is my first one and its on its way to the printing right now and will soon decorate my living room wall as a 100 x 70 cm large canvas. The original image is 9354 x 6756 pixels, so it took a while to render =)

    3ds Max and V-Ray.

I've also got a couple of wallpapers in different resolution:

Thanks! Can't wait until I get it on my wall.

Here are some close ups. I know there are some gaps here and there, but it will never show when printed.

i'm loving this - I love the original Mario World graphics - so iconic.
My only crit is that the water is too dark; it should be really light blue:

I know you have the artistic license! Just my personal preference! - I think you have the hue and sat right on everything else...

Love the detail on Bowser, and the stars look good enough to grab!

That has an awesome style to it. I love the stylized water.

Sorry, the link is working now.

beestee, that's great. Keep the updates coming =)

sv, yeah, I know, the water colour isn't really spot on, but I like it better this way. Looks to "toxic" otherwise =)

Shimakaze, sorry, I don't want people printing this however they may =) Wanna keep it exclusive.

Very cool. Would love to see "Metroid" remade in that style.
