I recently participated in a little fx war animation challenge over at cgtalk. Head on over and check it out. Mine's the gigantic steampunk type monowheel. Be sure to vote if you like it best.

Really really sweet! The introduction is a bit long, but the animation is stellar! Would love to see this thing in different environments. Loved the rocket ending -- didn't see that coming!

thanks. I tried to make it long enough for people to be able to read. I read pretty fast, so its hard for me to tell how long it takes others...

Very nice Percy! What kind of render times did you see with all that going on?

hmm...it was rendered in a few passes. the main beauty pass rendered pretty fast, even with 3d moblur. maybe 15-20 mins max per frame. The afterburn passes took quite some time due to 3d moblur at times. I made heavy use of some render elements like zbuffer, specular, and multimatte.
