What's up KVMaster. It's your curly haired co-op from last year. Hope all is well around the office.
Nice model of the Purple People Bridge, it's instantaneously recognizable. Looks like you got it pretty close to the real deal. I like the detail of the maintenance access railing.
I have a short list of C&C's for you since I know you're all about the accuracy. Here the list:
- I think the you nailed the water material. Excellent reflection in the shadow of the bridge
- The closest truss in the rendering hangs underneath the driving, now walking desk, on the real bridge (see images 1 and 2)
- The foliage in front look really nice, but the railing in the foreground has a much brighter shaded side. Appears to have a little too much ambient light (see image 1). Don't know how exact you're trying to get it, but the railing in the reference image is curved with vertical balusters (also image 1)
- Maybe take a few trees out of the opposing river bank. In the reference photos one can see several of the smaller buildings along the other river bank (See image 4). Without them it doesn't feel like it's in an urban setting
- Would also think that you might get a glimpse of the Kentucky hills just over the tree line in the background (see left side of image 2 and through bridge in image 3). This would add another layer of depth into the rendering
- Maybe add a few birds flying in the sky or sitting on the bridge pier, maybe even a boat on the river might also give it a bit more of the finishing details to sell the rendering. None of the reference images look as far east as the rendering. But from that angle you should be able to see the end of the Beer Sellar / Hooters / B.J. Fins Riverboat
Hope these help. After reading the other reply I figured I'd give you something you can actually use. Have a good one!
