Study: Lamp W08t by Studioilse

I thought I might (finally) post some pictures. Did this study of the lamp "W08" by Studioilse and the Wästberg agency. (www.wastberg.com)

Initially, I did it for a visualization project, but I decided to take it a bit further. It took a bit of tweeaking to get the material for the shade right.

Heads up to Peter Guthrie - I just visited your site, and saw you made a study of the same lamp. It's a beautiful piece of design.

Ha, had to do a double take when I looked at this, thought someone had raised my thread from the dead!

Interesting to see the modeling differences, your red cord is better than mine, i was a bit lazy, and didnt realize it was meant to be red fabric. Have you seen one in real life? Actually disappointingly wobbly and not as well put together as I had hoped.

Heh yeah.. sorry. Funny how poeple end up doing the same thing.
But thanks. Yeah, I worked a bit on the cord. Displacement to get the structure + bump and anistrophy to get the fibrous texture. I seldom have time to fiddle around like this, but once in a while I get a few free hours to do it - and it's really rewarding.

I like that other lamp. I'll send you a PM and we can talk about it.
