  • Furry Teddy bear

    Hi all,
in case of a project for my study I had to render a teddybear.
After some tries with the hair and fur modifier, I decided to use Vray fur.
I haven´t found similar images in the web, only some carpets and stuff done with Vray fur, that´s why I upload my result in this forum.

Finally, this is the shot I´ve done:

If you´re interested how this was done, just ask.

    cheers

Very nice. And not just any teddy bear but a Steiff!

I'm interested in more info. I always tend to give up on VrayFur at that level of detail because of insane render times. Haven't tried for a while though.

Looks cool to me....but a bit too perfect..I guess it depends on your style, but I would put some adjustments into the bend map and length to give a bit more variation.

        Hi all,
I used 3 furs, one for the white fur and a shorter, thicker one for the "base of the brown one and a second, thin and longer one for the "ticks".
The white and base brown have 500 hairs per area and the "tick" brown 150 per area. The next thing was to play with the material to get those "split ticks". (opacity maps, fresnel reflections, mix material with gradient ramps and color)...

@stevesidas: you´re right, it´s a bit "too perfect", I did not have the time anymore to bend it so that the look goes somemore realistic.. but I will work on...

        Rendertime: 5 hours withh a q6600 quadcore (8 gig ram),IM low, LC 512,
        Studio 3 lights 960x960px. Vray 1.5 SP4 max 2010

I think it´s not a really long render time...

        cheers

          Looks great!

          Just a reminder.
Tomorrow is released the new demo of hair farm. Much faster than vray fur.

          cheers
