    Somewhere in a post someone was working with a water material and the need for colored water. This is semi-sort of an idea. The process was more of a test of tiling the pool and the wood decking around the pool.

    The first is just a strength render no GI. The grass is done using VRay Displacement modifier.



    The second is the same with GI and the only illumination is from the underwater pool lights. Just a self-illumination material with the VrayWrapper and GI turned up on the wrapper.

    In your scene, there is a straight line where the water meets the tiling, why don't you try VRay's displacement on the water as well? Maybe also add a very dark environnement light onthe second image, just enough to make the grass appear in the penumbra.

    Only guesses ...

      Right now I am working on getting the underwater lights to look good, aka caustics. That's is why I am keeping the area around the pool dark and my mind gets distracted to easily.

      As for the dark edge I did try VRay's displacement but didn't get a good effect. But I also didn't throw to much time at it.
