  • a place to find your soul

I don't post much work here (mainly because I haven't done much 3D stuff lately) but here's my last school project.

I have more renders left to do but I know VRay is not going to let me down

Comments and criticism welcome...so hit me

It looks great... the lighting and grain look good. The colors are rich. Still needs work, but on the right path

The bump is way to big and even... you need some real textures. Some stains or something to break up the patterns. The corners all need bevels to catch light correctly. Always bevel your corners, or use the fedge material:

It USED to be free (I think)... doesn't look like it is now.

      thanks for the reply.

Edges, yeah I know. Too sharp and too straight, but it might not be a problem because these are going to be attacked pretty heavily (some more) in photoshop till they're really grimey and crusty - using overlays of scanned watercolour washes and bad photocopies etc, not filters...so if need be I might just paint over the edges to the way I want them in photoshop...cheating

fedge looks good, never used it though. Would be nice to have it built in to VRay Advanced nudge nudge

Says curtin on your site, wondering if its the one in WA or another one
Didnt expect to see anyone working with vray, studying there
Well prehaps if it is the same one, i will see you on campus.
            Wish i was doing architechture

And on the renderings, they look great, really good atmosphere.

              Hi Chris,

Yep, I study at Curtin in Perth, currently in 3rd year.

I might be going to UWA for 4th and 5th years to do their honours program, but given that its taken me 3 years to figure out where everything is at Curtin I'm thinking plonking myself in an unknown environment again is probably not the best thing

What are you studying at Curtin?

Sorry, I shuffled things around on my webspace and had to delete a lot of stuff.

The final renders are here now - http://www.argo.net.au/philipad/main...es/bath01.html
