    Hello,

Part of a new series I am working on. For this model, I was trying to recreate the look/feel of a photo. Something like a lomo shot or a pinhole camera. The bg pine trees are a photo comp, the rest is modeled. Comments are always welcome.

looks nice. The grass is lacking in texture. What I do in situation like this is to get a photo of a large area of grass, and overlay it over the cg grass, set the blending mode to overlay and then lower the opacity alot, until you get a nice subtle texture to it. I think it will greatly improve the image.

The first thing I think is where is the big tree that all the leaves on the ground have come from???? I think I big tree in fore ground to the left would work nice..something just poking into screen maybe?

Nice work all round though...good job

It's a lovely rendering that's for sure but I think the thing that lets it down is the background plate; it needs to be sharper and the contrast between it and the rendering needs to be evened out.

            Thanks everybody for your comments.

I tried that but it didn't look right to me. I agree, my grass mtl needs some work.

Funny you say... I tried a different approach with the trees but I felt that I couldn't get it to work. I have an example on my blog here.

Nice work man and without first reading the other comments the grass definately caught my eye first, followed by the bg. I actually like last image you posted on your blog, the birch trees (?) work well and add a nice contrast with their shadows.
