  • Virtual Mock-Up

I just completed a quick virtual mock-up animation. If you are interested you can see it over on our site.

    http://www.nor-son.com/planroom

it is in the folder labeled Duck Lake, it is called fireplace option animation, and the username is ducklake (no username).

I'll probably be doing a lot of work on this project. Any suggestions to help improve it would be appreciated. I know the person is to blurred, but I don't like seeing people in spaces like this, but the architects wanted it, so I tried motion blur... it might be a little much.

Can´t download it. Maybe you can put it on a more easy to handle place.

Right now it's just two (or four with the fp option) images that fade together, right? Seems like very little for a 70mb download. The images look great but I don't understand what you are trying to achieve with the animation. If it's just fading between the options you can do that pretty simply with irfanview (as part of a slideshow) and forget about the whole animation thing. Are you planning on animating the camera?

The client wants to see the fireplace full stone and 1/2 stone. I think it is a very good way to help the client through the decision process. Conventionally, at least here, all the client got was floor plans and maybe an interior elevation.

I did the sideshow in After Effects. My intent is to offer added value to our clients with virtual mock-ups. We had a client last year spend over a million dollars on mock-ups. We can show our clients that we can save them money by doing this virtually.

I still think the best way to show this is with separate still images rather than an animation. The client could flip between the images easier in order to compare. IMO the fades don't really add anything.

The client will get the hard copy stills and the material animation took all but 2 minutes in AE; the client is eating it up!

                  Bobby,
                  nice turntable- like that lots
you should just do these fading animtions in flash or a flash slideshow galley (monoslideshow is v. nice, or longtion slideshowpro which is v easy to use),
you will get the exact same result (or more options if you wish) but the final size will be just the jpg file size x no. of images, (a lot less than 70MB ) Also they'll just play through a broswer.

asking for a username and password... Very curious about this as I've been doing a lot of virtual tour flash

Don't get to excited, it is very simple. Just ignore the username, just use the password.
