After stumbling across some high-res satellite imagery from NASA I decided to have a go at creating a realistic looking earth model. I used 3 different spheres for the earth, clouds and atmosphere with a variety of falloffs to get the effects I was looking for. These are straight renders with no post work.

your atmosphere needs a softer falloff on the outside. otherwise looks pretty good.

Hi there. Textures and render looks great but:

        1. you need an universe. add stars etc on the background
        2. perhaps adding more glow to the surface that is looking towards the sun

ps. do you have the link to the nasa images?

        cheers

Thanks. Yeah, there's a few things I want to try with it. Here's the link to the NASA images

            Hi there,
I don't think it is bad, but it needs more work, especially on capturing the atmosphere.
Earth from the distances shown on the 1st and second pic would definitively look more blue, and the ground would not be that sharp.
Just a few things to consider

            cheers

            Keep working
