here is an actual hires-pic, this time w/o dof & not too brigth.
i think the marble-map needs some additional adjustments too (uvw-size,...)

    warning: 7.x Mb-picture ahead!!!

Try to get the focus on the chair (not talking about dof). Now the reflective pillar on the left and the bright sunlit areas take all the attention away from the chair.

I like the chair pillow and it's material!

I also find the grooves in the marble stones a bit too distracting. Especially the horizontal ones above the chair.

        Keep it coming!

i agree with flipside - the chair is too blurry.

i recommend not using the dof/post-blurring unless, for example, your trying to "focus" on a really tiny object or the shot is a character close-up in a busy environment. Also, there might be too much noise on the cushion, looks good in the bright light, but the area in the shadow shows noise.

Very realistic daylight, and very inviting image. (makes me want to grab a good book and curl up!)

            ...hope this helps.

Would Mies place a post in the corner?!

A professor of mine told a story about Mies visiting a house made by one of his modernist colleagues. It appears that, as soon as he entered the house, Mies saw a post in a corner and thus he gave up the visit immediately, saying that the only fact that a post rests in a corner, proves that the house is not worth being visited. Wasn't that arrogant and haughty?! So, I was wondering whether that's an actual project by Mies or not?

Needless to say, your image is very well lit, the chair material looks great too IMO, and I agree with flipside about the marble grooves.

                  Keep posting.

                  Regards,

                  Nenad
