  • WIP PFX Test

    Maya Paint Effects are working Just did a small test, grass are proxies, trees and Flowers are PFX. Now it would be nice to get a better influence on the shading of the Strokes, but i'm not really into PFX. It would be pretty awesome to apply vray shaders to it...
    No postwork done, straight out of vray. Far from finish, just a small test, as already said.

    Nice test, the grass translucency looks great...you have to map textures to those pfx leaves on the trees though!

      I would love to, but i really don't know how to apply vray materials to paintFX... And i don't want to convert to polys, if there's another way to do it.

        Ah, I meant just leaf textures with opacity so the leafs aren't square and green - that's all. You should be able to map file textures to pfx I think.

          Yeah, that should work, of course. I'd really like to introduce some translucency and stuff to the leafs to, but i don't want to use the built-in shading. Maybe someone knows how to do it?

              About the rendertimes: Ridicously high and not suitable for production. But i'm just getting into optimizing vray rendertimes and i'm on another job right now, so hopefully i can continue working on that soon.
