  • PIXEL MUST DIE - Demoreel 2010

    Hi,

we just finished our new demoreel. All was rendered using Vray and 3ds Max 2011 + Composite 2011.
    We hope you like it!

A lot of very nice things there. And a huge amount of ground covered. What do you specialise in?

The rendering is really good - some of the interiors later on are incredible.

imo though I think it's very over-edited. I think the dof is too strong, the glow is too strong, and theres some camera moves which are too fast. The projects you whip out in the last third are really nice - I'd emphasize those more, and slow down so you can actually pick up on the details. I found myself pausing it just so I could see the image.

Quoted for 100% agreement. Some really nice work but the latter half really stands out. The glows overall are a touch OTT for my taste but some seriously lovely stuff!

                              Truely awesome work, Mac!

I love composite 2011, so far. But, for the life of me, I can only get the lens blur to work in the background. And if I invert the z-depth pass modulation then it will only blur the foreground, off course.

I've scoured the net for info, but did not find anything on this particular problem. So I must ask, if you don't mind sharing, how did you get the foreground/background dof switch in composite?
