  • Dark Side of V-Ray

    Hi guys and girls,

Here is my tribute to my favorite band! This was rendered with V-Ray of course. Took me a couple of hours to set-up properly. I used:

VRayEnvironmentFog + Caustics to be able to see the rays of light
    Light dispersion for the rainbow
VRayToon - to get the outlines of the Prism
Added just a little bit of blur in post.

I guess it means vray 2. either that or dispersion has very well been hidden for all these years

Yes, it does mean V-Ray 2. We showed a little bit of that at our Siggraph show:

          http://shop.cgarchitect.com/siggraph...ent-demos.html

The set up is pretty straight forward. Directional light on the left. A prism with a basic "glass" material with the Dispersion parameter enabled(V-Ray 2). V-Ray fog with appropriate fog distance so we see what's going on. V-Ray Toon. Caustics enabled Max photons set to 100 and the light is emitting 6000 caustic photons.

          Best Regards
          Jimmy
