  • Apartment - very dark Illumination!

Friends, that is my last work, even so, I didn't like the images, mainly the one of inverted cameras, they were very dark!

The dark is with multiplier 2,0!

    Please, order suggestions!

something we have been doing lately to solve dark walls, that are supposed to be white,
is to calc the irradience map, save the imap,
and then apply a slight bit of self illumination to the white walls.
and rerender it with the imap loaded
even just a few percent seems to make the walls much brighter, and more Lightscapish

It is looking pretty good, nice sharpness. It is tuff to get those walls white. I think I'm going to try RW's technique. There are a few othe things to be done. Are you using photon map? or direct? adding a few more secondary bounces can brighten it up. Also you can play with the "recieve GI" but both are limited.

with some of my scenes I've turned up the generate gi for the ceiling to brighten up the top of the wall where it was darkest.

I almost always set generate gi=1.2 and recieve gi=1.1 to the biggest surfaces of the interior (=walls, ceiling, ...) This brightens up the whole scene way more than playing with diffuse bounces.

i hate that comment (especially when it is coming from my boss). In real life walls can be dark. They have a fredom to be dark. But not in a cg rendering.
i think your renderings are just fine for me. And i prefer dark look than washed with white look.

btw, how about increasing the bounces.

              taboo has a good point...

In my field I'm asked to render everything as if it were new, that is, without scratches and grime. I don't think this portrays the piece as the student would expect it but I have to go with what the customer wants.

In Architectural Visualization is this also the case or do clients sometimes want more accurate depictions of how the light will truly act on there buildings and rooms?

All in all, the second image looks the best for mood IMHO, it also gives a very natural feel.

The first image gets the award for clearly displaying the rooms contents but it may be a little lacking in contrast.

Thank you for the comments, I will follow the clues later!

It proceeds, more some images, of the same work, even so, that is together a simpler apartment with domitorio and together living room!

Is your environment screen mapped? There seems to be a camera projection of the backgroundimage in all reflections, this happens if you have a screen mapped environment.

Add a second environment in the VRay override slot to fix this.
                    Nice work by the way!

                      Thank you for the comments!

The aeron chair is a rpc, activating the shadow and the reflection was giving a problem, it ended up being even so!

Now I got an Aeron in 3D same, later probably I will make the change!
