    Hi,
I did a small interior viz for Mimolimit studio.
Sculptures are 3D scans of existing ones from Michal Gabriel.
There is evident loss of quality in some areas ( didn't make it to render in time so I had to render lower quality regions and it is apparent )...

PLease, let me know what do you think...

P.S.: I'm obviously fighting with carpets nowadays... Fur carpets render times are too high and they are eating too much memory too. And I'm not able to tweak displacement maps not to be visibly tiling in my renders

I love it! It's just has a special crazy feel about it. So how DID you do the carpet? Is PSed, because it looks pretty sweet! Love the gold material of sculptures, looks very real.

      Thanks for your kind words.

No, the carpet is actualy displaced, but the tiling could be seen
I did a maxFur version, but the rendertimes were from outer space ( the other problem part are the sculptures - 3D scans are HUGE and just the 2 human figures proxy files are approx 800 MB large )

Can't you just put an optimization modifier on them? They aren't close to the camera. Hm, those holes are 3D I guess?

... of course they can be optimized. lost one night in tight deadline trying to weld vertices (6mil+ on each) on them, but no success I found max dead in the morning have to weld vertices part by part not on the whole model

Hi about the carpet, your map is probably not tileable, because it has a light difference from border to border, open the bitmap in photoshop and use Filter > Other > High pass, play with it untill you got somethin more tileable....

Brilliant images, I like the colour scheme as well.
Sometimes tight deadlines are good, some of my favourite images were done in a quick turn around --- well done!

Did you try the MAX modifier called optimize?

Hey, thanks for the advice... going to try that

The client designer is special to me. It's always working in a rush, but they are prepared to answer any my question immediately when needed.
... and it's a pleasure for me to work on this kind of design projects.

Do you think that bonsai thing looks OK? Made it in onyx in about half and hour... look kind of too 'hairy' to me

                      ...heres the tree in foreground...

grate job ! love the contrast. Did you use LWF? If so 2.2 or 1.8 gamma correction? Also what color correction did you use? Linear?

Really nice renders! I like the Escher type theme that is seemingly going on in the space. I like the "hairy" Bonzi thing aswell. The green of "it" definetly helps balance out the render IMO.

                            Thanks!
yes, I did use gamma correction it's 2.2 or 1.6 I'm not quite sure which value was the last one... probably 1.6 and its reinhard - almost exponential color mapping

did you do anything in post? Any colour correction etc? Or just this straight from render?
                              Kind Regards,
