the color shift should come from the vray native systems, but in your case they're looking very subtle - again, this is pretty subjective stuff, so.....

    pm'ing you the email address....

I think he (Alex Roman) is using After Effects, and some Red Giant plug-ins for his color corrections. I hope I'm remembering correctly, it's been a few months since I watched that video.

exactly, different movies/videos all have different color grading, look at all the options inside Red Giant "Looks" plugin, so for someone to say your color is off is really just that person opion.

Still trying to find the problem, so I remembered, does iGrass use vrayproxies, or normal objects? Because those few grass models I have in my scene already, they are not proxies.
I'm waiting for my license of MS to do more tests on the latest version of MS (had an old version), so I uninstalled it for now. Payed it yesterday so I hope I'll get the licence soon.

its normal objects, but u can also make proxies out of them if you decide to..

Beautiful work!! I remember seeing a lot of grass renderings when that VrayScatter plug came out, and those were mainly showing grass for the sake of grass.... But your images have a great mix of different grass types/weeds/etc, and the density is right on. Really really nicely done! And the building looks great too! Good job!

Maybe you saw already...I'm making my own tests now. Just trying to render with high dynamic memory limit settings as Vlado suggested. So far so good. I see you have a really huge terrain (in the distance), what was your memory limit?
                    Did you see my grass?

                      thanks John!

                      Crayox13:
yep i ve seen your grass...looks good!...i always use the dynamic memory limit about 1500MB under my total physical RAM. In my case that woudl be 10.5GB (12GB ram in total)

Hm wow, and looking at your render, the grass area is huge, so I must be doing something wrong.
Your RAM usage was low, so was your dynamic limit, your grass area is much bigger and thicker than mine, only, I don't know what's your CPU power, how many cores, which ones, etc. But still...

Oh, and, can you tell me roughly the size of the plane that you spread your grass on, and the number of max objects. I think you said 500 000, or was it someone else, I can't find it in this thread.

                          Beautiful grass Martin!!

@johnszot: I think you're absolutely right. I think also that there's no "holy grail" for CC; each scene has it's own tune, levels, effects and color balancing... Each Exeter render has different parameters in terms of colour, adjustments, etc... I wish there is a single all-purpose CC method!!

                          Best,
                          A.

                            Hi Alex, thank you!
This CC thing has been bothering me for some time now... i do agree its all about the mood one wants to achieve and also , the overall purpose of the image matters a lot, whether it tends to be more stateof the art image or more pragmatic look.

However, it would be nice if i could see from someone else what could be done to this particular image...the lighting is far from dramatic, its clear, midday sky so its hard for me to see where the CC and color changes coudl be applied.

                            Best Regards
