  • Eurocopter Ec-135 - first steps in animation

    Hello there!

Here is something I've been working on for some time. Its a animation of Eurocopter EC-135 military version. I wanted to learn how to model hard surface models like this one and learn some basic knowledge about animation.
Let me know what you think.

So here is a link to the animation : http://www.lucas3d.net/eurocopter/TheReconFlight.mov

and here are some still images from the animation :

    Hope you like it.

    Cheers
    Lucas

      very nicely done!

Only crit would be the move where the chopper turns away from the camera. it looks a bit unnatural for some matter.

        Thank you guys!
@Nelis : yes I'am aware that I need to work on postproduction. This stuff is fairly new to me. I hope the next animation I do will be better.

It would be awesome if you could show some wires

I would like to see how dense your base is. I find it pretty hard to cut out detail from an overall round shape, it always messes it up.

My base was literally a Box.

I meant, the base model, like the grey image you posted above but with wireframe.

You're just talking about my life here

Yeah, that would be cool to see a wire, a low level of detail one.

Great work. Maybe the material could be more reflexive, and watch the real vehicule, the metal plates are always bumped a little bit. Yours is too perfect !

Sorry Guys but the way I build my meshes I've researched myself so I'am not willing to share how I do things.
As for the postproduction I've used After Effects and Magic Bullet Looks + colorista II and some additional curves, constrast and ect.

                          Thanks again for your appreciation!

Could you give details on your main material of the heli's body? Looks pretty good and would like to see your settings if you don't mind please. Sometimes asking somebody is also called research
Was the background rendered or is that video footage?
                            Kind Regards,
