Are you using landscape plans or it's more an artistic approach?...houses on the lake (at least what I've seen) they have privated beach(sand) and/or border in stone( retaining wall) and/or wild grasses...a combination of these three common solutions will help to get a better looking rendering....I like the first one with the trees on the front from the second rendering.

I had an existing site photo from that view, from the frozen lake, so I used that information.
