  • Caterpillar D10

    Hey there!

Here is my new render of a Caterpillar bulldozer. Modeled under Maya and rendered using Vray. I've used Uvlayout and Photoshop for texturing. Hope you like it.

Thank you thablanch! Too bad guys from Cgtalk does not appreciate it. I received a response to my submission " work does not yet meet our standards as a completed piece for the Showcase Gallery."

        Hey Lucas,

In cgtalk have you tried to choose another final img of the Caterpillar, change details of the submission and make a re-submission?
Sometimes they refuse a submission but perhaps it has nothing to do with the quality of your image but the way you wrote your text, title, or some little detail about the image category or software. They are really very strict when it comes to those things.

About your posted work, its very very good. Everything. HDRI lightning? Is the BG a photo made by you?

        Cheers and congratulations,
        Jacinto

Thank you prateekvishwa! I've got a used caterpillar equipment rental about a mile from my home so I had a good reference on the paint job and dirt

I've finally found out what was the case with cgtalk. They are accusing me of doing a model from a "tutorial". So I've searched for a tutorial of D10 and found one on eat3d, the thing is that the tutorial is about a D10 military version and itd under max ... mine was done under maya and it is not a military version. Remember everybody ... a D10 was done once ... you've should not do it again lol

Didn't you know, the CG world has a one caterpillar limit..!

Seriously though, very well done. Good model, good textures.
