  • Some new work

Finally getting around to updating our website & since we use V-Ray for absolutely everything, thought I'd post a few images here

Sorry if the amount of images is a bit spammy, but I didn't want to create a load of separate threads.

Any questions, comments or crits - fire away!

very inspiring work! I think you should have put more of them I am sure no one is going to complain because of the amount of these images!
I especially lowed the ice man very well executed.. Can you please give us some clues about how you achieved that material? Is it heavily post work or done within the renderer?

      Thanks!

The ice material was mostly done in the render, although we did end up comping together a couple of different passes. It's just a refractive/reflective material, some blurring & a combination of rough bump maps.

        very nice style!

You should use some of those characters and animate them

I really like the melons and the ice bartender!
        great modeling

            Hey AJ,

how did you do your ice shader? Is it simple and a lot of displacement or did you do layering with procedurals and textures?
The wrapped 2010 looks nice. Was it sculpted?

            great stuff once again

                Thanks for the kind words!

Cruz - The 2010 was sculpted, with a fair bit of reference sadly the client went for a simpler treatment in the end, so this was only a test render.

As for the ice, it's relatively simple - no displacement but plenty of bitmaps (concrete, dirt...etc.) in the bump & reflection slots to break up the surface. I'll dig out the file & do a screen grab of the material if you like? As with most things like this, the lighting is doing the majority of the work. If I put the same material in a different scene it would probably look terrible!

Thanks again for the comments - much appreciated!
