  • Aircraft Interior-

So this is a bit of a cheat as what I had most available (that I could show) was out of max. I brought it back into rhino (via obj). Still, quite a complicated scene.

    all rectanglar lights.

question- who's using what anti-aliasing types?

    e.

please don't link or re-post, thanks!

Maybe it is better to watermark this kind of stuff...

anyhow, nice model! This model deserves some more GI detail I think. Also the color bleeding is a bit roo much IMO.

As far as antialiasing concerns, The fastest and smoothest is adaptive, at least when you don't have much glossy effects. Otherwise I always use QMC AA. So in this scene I think most materials would be glossy plastics, then QMC AA with low noise treshold would give good results.

      Thanks for your input Gijs~

I've updated the image w/ a bit more detail...I haven't tweeked the bleed yet but I agree with your critique.

I find that the gi settings need to be much higher in RhVray than in max- Maybe it's just because I seldom do an image at this small size... since I have all this geometry in max as well I should test it if I have time to.

In this image I've also tried to add some glossy reflection on the seat cushions to get a leather effect- It looks like I need to boost samples on my lights to get less noise in the glossies...

I was wondering whether there's a way in Rhvray to turn off the raytracing in the mat like in max and just have a 'fake' specular...it saves a lot of rendertime and noise chasing imo.

Oh, btw, I was refering to the anti-aliasing filters, not the sampler, I was thinking I could get out those jaggies up on the top of the bins w/ it. Normally I use mitchell-netravali.

I mostly use either Mitchel-Netravali or no filter at all in max. No filtering can save a lot of time.

        I once made this overview:

What color mapping are you using now btw? I imagine the vertical elements facing the camera would catch more indirect light. The scene feels quite darkish

          Nice render!

On a side note, I stood inside of the Airbus A380-800 today at the dubai airshow, its nothing short of flying cow - really agile cow. I'll try and post pictures of this monster later today.

            Gijs:

            I'm using HSV w/ 2 drk and 1 bright

one reason why they may be a bit dark is I've no sidewalls on the camera side- I'll add to this scene a bit and up the detail.

            I don't see M/N as a choice in our current a/a selections....

            Thanks,

That beast is an amazing accomplishment- I just hope airlines don't pack it out with 800 seats! Can you imagine boarding? should be interesting...I'd be interested in pictures if you get any!
