    Part of an old model, dusted off and rendered. Would be nice to have opacity mapping, dirt shading and stuff - would help make the scene more interesting...





    I'll put them in a decent scene and render some more pics but to be honest the caps aren't very interesting. Ideas/comments are welcome.

      Ok here are some suggestions

      - position them in a more natural way (maybe one lying on top of another a little bit)
      - use glossy reflection, together with fresnell option (your materials look more like shiny metals, while these caps probably are coated)
      - nicer colors (this is subjective of course)
      -more pronounced lighting direction (smaller and stronger light coming from one side, lower angle so you get more pronounced shadows)

        Took a break from coding and took flipside's advice on the scene (thanks). Coca-Cola text is not a texture but curves that were extruded and capped. Color adjustments done in Photoshop. IR map settings are very low, I'll up them as soon as I get some more free time to work on them.

        Comments and suggestions are welcome.

          Looks great! If you had to, how would you apply a decal? Would a decal from Flamingo stay?

                Updated image, increased IR Samples and AA.

                As far as decals/opactiy mapping is concerned, I have no idea. From what I have heard you need to install the brazil for rhino beta to get access to them, and I believe someone pointed out that they aren't very stable...

                    The mapping tools for brazil are a rhino thing, it's not brazil specific. So when they finish it up it will be a part of rhino, and all render plugins will be able to use it.
