          Here's the rubber:



          The plastic is yellow diffuse, fresnell reflections, bit of glossy.

          The rest is lighting setup

          Oh and these are model car wheels & tyres (scale 1/10th).

            I think you should mention that the reflection is not totally black. I believe your refraction is totally black though. When reflection/refraction is totally black it is not used in our current material editor

              Will it be possible to do a similiar thing to the the max/vray option of turning off the 'trace reflections' tab to get 'simple' specularity?

                Yeah diffuse and reflection is not black, these two are very important of course for the material

                        We have the scene provided by Flipside, but it had no materials. So I try to recreate the scene very quick and I also recreate the materials. I hope this work for you.
