  • everyday work IV - building

my current project. there are much more pics of it, maybe i will post them later. this was the project i needed the technical cam script. mabye now you can imagine why. my provider is offline at the moment so i have to post it this way. i hope it will work.

FOR SOME REASON THE COLOURS AND THE RESOLUTION OF THE LAST PICTURE LOOKS TERRIBLE ! ACCTUALLY IT LOOKS NORMAL !

i will fix it later and post the real version. don´t want to cut it out of the html now.

    it was rendered with 12000x9000

Beautiful renderings - at that size, what were your settings/render time?

        Really, really beautiful! Congrats!
The only thing I'd point (if there was any) would be the size of the shadows casted by the trees. IMHO, it looks like you have one lamp behing the camera and the trees are very close to it, so it makes the leaves cast gigantic shadows. But maybe that's just me.
        Once again, great images!

@rick... i know what you mean. i have tried it with other shadows, but the "greater"one are better for the whole mood.

@psy... yes, really ? great, then i did a good job, because this pictures are for an exposé to sell the flats

i´m very sad about the third picture, something has gone wrong when i created the html page. but i can´t upload the other pictures until tomorrow

                metroberlin,

They look great buddy. Don't beat yourself up. I especially enjoy the tree shadows on the facade - very nice touch.

                        the settings are nothing special.

first and sec. bounces to 0.75, gi light a darker blue and an orange direct light with area shadow. high presets

                          Hi Metro,

Impressive renders. I just tried rendering an image @ 15000x11000. Unfortunately my computer wouldn't accept it. Had to reduce it down to 10000x7000. It took 18 hours to render. How long did yours take?

Artistically I think your images create a fantastic mood. I can really feel the Sun's warmth bouncing off the facade. The camera correction works well for the shot.

How high was your direct light set to? What was your multiplier for the env. light and did you use HSV for colour mapping?

@sc... yes, normaly it´s a problem in max to render such resolutions. but i use the "blowup" trick to handle it.

                            http://www.discreet.com/support/max/...dstudio&id=465

i split up the picture in f.e. four pieces and render each piece with it´s own irrandiance map on four machines. so each machines "just" have to handle a resolution of 3000 x xyz. in photoshop you can put the pieces together. vray is so clean you can´t see anything, although each machines calculates it´s own map. works perfectly !!

for the picture i have used the normal linear colour mapping. the multiplier for the direct was 1.8 with a darker orange. the env. was 1.35 with a "middle" blue

now i´m rendering the backyard again. displacement is great, but in that resolution it takes a lifetime to render
