  • Interior render and scene for you to test

    Hi all,

I created the scene for anybody who wants to test various settings, ligting conditions and GI engines. Please feel free to comment materials and settings in this file. Maybe we could make competition for quickest rendertime with reasonable quality.

    >>> Here?s the file <<< (RAR 3.9 MB)

UnRAR archive content into one directory. After you load the scene, switch floating window to Rendered Viewport. Rhino should find and display all textures correctly. Please let me know if there?s any material loss (I am fighting with lost materials quite often).

Here?s actual rendering of the scene:

Unfortunately it?s not possible to lock viewport size and camera position in Rhino 3.0 so this scene can?t be used for CPU benchmark because it will look differently based on your display ratio (16:10, 4:3), docked toolbars, docked windows etc.

All models and textures are created by me or they origin from free Internet resources. Don?t use the scene or it?s components for commercial purposes, please.

BTW there?s terrible color bleeding in this scene. How do I control color bleeding of individual objects? In Lightscape there?s ?color bleed? setting in material editor and can be set separately for each material.

You can use the -ViewportProperties command to adjust the viewport exact pixel size, so you could specify which size it should be set.

flipside: yes I know this BUT... this way you can limit image SIZE but not it?s content... depending on aspect ratio of your current Rhino screen (widescreen display, docked toolbars, docked Layer and/or Properties window etc) the content of this rendering window will be different - it will look like that camera moves in and out. I haven?t found a way how to setup viewport so that it has EXACTLY the same size AND content on any computer.

You're right if you use "viewport size" in the render properties. I think if you save a named view,"view/named views", then set the render properties to a custom size you should be able to get a repeatable setting independent of display aspect ratio.

            Hi!
I was a little played with your scene.
Unfortunately, I have no VRay for Rhino. I used VRay for Max.
            I have one question.
Is possible whether to make your render this scene more realistic, using VRay for Rhino?
This product greatly interests me. It would be desirable to know, on that it was capable.
            Thanks!

Hi Little, very nice render! I think that it?s pretty possible to achieve the same or higher quality in Rhino, only one thing would not be possible at the moment - you used micropolygon displacement on the carpet, right? I think that this feature will be missing in V-Ray for Rhino 1.0.

ok, i'm not expert like you guys, but i would love to try this vray for rhino. pls, make it in demo version too..
ok, i just try some photoshop work on original, here's what got

there's to much rec colour in light cast, i think in real world u don't get so much color from objects. this happens in all photometric render engines i think, i use brazil for max.
i was using some basic ps tools like channels, curves and usm. u can always tweak final render a litle bit more with ps, to get the maximum.
                p.s. great forum and gallery!

You rights about the carpet. I will wait final release, where all functions and procedural maps will be accessible.

i don't have vray yet(but shure like one, hehe). just want to say that ps is sometimes good just to give a render that special touch.
i can always try to render the scene with brazil and post resoult here, but i doubt it will be better from what i have seen till now, hehe.
i like carpet work, and vase too, nice eye for detail.

                        What happened?

Hi there, I just downloaded the example file that you provided and hit the render button ... but was a little surprised by the results. Any ideas?
