When taking a scene from beta 9 - 10 there was a slight change in our options that caused a problem loading in certain parts of our options. I believe the affected areas were in the Colormapping and Camera page. So if you just make the appropriate changes and then re-save your file, you shouldn't have any more problems.

For future reference, post these problems in bugs forum.

thanks for your help guys. I'm sure it will take me a while to understand what all the settings do and what VRay calls options that exist in other programs.

Is there a beta version of documentation that is under development too?

In rhino if you go to Help->Plug-Ins->VRayForRhino there is some documentation. It is pretty basic stuff and need updating badly. Posting questions in the VRayForRhino::General section of our forum is a good way to get some aid as well.

Interior render and scene for you to test

Hi, I am an absolute beginner to v-ray so please forgive the lack of knowledge and understanding of v-ray, I just pre ordered it on Friday evening.
After downloading the room scene I hit render and all I got was a black room with some light coming in the window, after playing around I got some light in the room but still very bad compared to the render in this forum. Also the pictures on the wall did not render.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to study the settings for a room scene.

If you want to only show the GI then you must have some GI lighting. First turn on GI by going to the options -> Indirect Illumination and click "GI" so it is checked. Then go to options->Environment. Here you should enable GI Color and then set it to whatever you'd like..

Your other option is to uncheck "Show GI only". When "Show GI Only" is selected it ignores all direct light sources.

I have some troubles with this scene .
When the option "double sided" is select for the walls they look spotted ,when it's turned-off , the whole image become extremly bright ?!?

Interior render and scene for you to test

... today I have extract the scene and open it and ... I wonder me: why can I see the textures in the viewport and some in the rendering? The path of the materials are not right.

EDIT: At the wall is used a color value of 255. It's not recommended for GI - the light will bounce to much. Better is to use a lower value like 200.
