  • WIP room interior...

I am working on this interior and i have some doubts about the current lighting solution.
I would prefer the ones with natural lighting but I think they are too dark because of the window size.

I've had to make some adjustment in photoshop in order to get better results.

    here are the images...

I included the direct output image from vray and the modified ones:

    ORIGINAL

    FIXED

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ORIGINAL

    FIXED

Please make some comments on both proposals and if you got a better idea you are welcome.

    thanks!

One tip that a *lot* of people use is to put an invisible VrayLight just inside your window and setting it to a low value.. it adds a great amount of fill lighting inside the scene..

Another thing you might want to try if you want to just use the sun lighting is to turn up the secondary bounce multiplier.. (Default .5, try .8-9) and turning up the depth (number of bounces) 3 just doesn't cut it sometimes for interiors..

i think that the second *fixed* image (of the first set) looks worse than the original...its too sharp...unsharp mask in PS im guessing.

due it its clarity the image looks much more like CG and less like reality, which im assuming is what you are going for.

also u can use the new HSV Exponential color mapping to lighten up the scene.

        thanks for the comments

I kept working on the second set of images. the natural lighting solution.

I put an invisible light with a multiplier value lower than 1 and improved the ambient light a lot, also i got better ambient shadows.

here is the result after adding some furniture and adjustment.

now all you need to do is increase the interp. values to remove the splotches.

            thanks Psy!

I have currently a value of 20 for interp.

wich interp. values should i increase?
the first bounce values or the Calc pass interp.?

            cheers!

looking again, i cant really tell if the greenish wall behind the bed has splotches or if that is just a design.

is there a pattern on the wall or no?

well is actually a design (wall pattern)

anyway I adjusted the parameters for a high quality output.

                here is the result (fixed)

                thanks for the comments!
