    2006.04.25 - Interior (larger image)

I have a few issues with this rendering.
    1. The glass to the left has that strange dark halo. It affects the alpha channel and the reflection. It is not caused by any lights.
2.The grey leather chairs have a strange dark stripe
    3. The orange chaies in the forefront look like what they are - meshes.

Hmm, meshes cause sometimes artefacts. I don't know why Rhino has problems. Maybe it help you to read this thread:

Hey FOGlite. Haven't been on Archinect in a while...

Anyway, I got that model from the Fritz Hansen site. Is that where yours is from?

I had to go back and check, but you're right it was made Fritz Hansen, I got it from Ultra3D, they have some good rhino furniture on there.

D'oh! Just went to the Fritz hensen sight, it's not the same file. Same chair, different file. Someone has done a nice job using surfaces rather than meshes in the file over on ultra3D

Hi garret, nice image. I would make it much lighter though, and also the texture outside should be very blown out on an interior render. I would also use a much brighter sun compared to the skylight intensity, like in real life. Because now the sunlit areas don't really look sunny.

Thanks for the input, flipside. I was trying to imitate the overcast day on which the photo was taken. I think I over-saturated the colors of the background. To jungle-like, and not enough like LA.

Anyway, anoth issue was I forgot to make the Rect light invisible above the skylight, therefore preventing shadows. I fixed that as you can see here.

I agree with you on blowing out the background. I'll give that a shot. Thanks.

FOGlite, can you send the model to my email I use here?

After a long break from rendering, I am back with a new project. I am excited to try the latest build.

                      Thanks, flipside.

Ugh. Unfortunately I can't release my progress, but I am having a great time. Considering a career change to rendering full time.

Here's my latest rendering. The pool water needs some work. Any suggestions? The pool itself is white, yet the reflections are too powerful to see through.

A pool at night is tricky. Anyone try this?
