Here is a little experiment in Vray for Rhino. Just a fog overlayed on a refraction color. Hope you like. Heres the real one. Render time was pretty quick only about 2 min at the max. I haven't gone through and done a final pass yet so we will see how long that takes.

Yea it isn't anything really. I just needed something with varying thickness so I took a torus and pulled out some control points. I guess the could be finger rings for kids. Just use your imagination.
