  • very short animation (test)

a short testanimation for an upcoming project. nothing special, but i want to play with self illumination material, glossy reflection and antisotropic in an animation. it´s a quicktime wit mpeg4 and not very small (didn´t have another codec). i hope you don´t mind. and yes...it´s a little dark, i know

    That's pretty cool, nice concept.

btw If Arnold wins I hear we're going to change the state to "Culifornia" so everyone pronounces it "right".

Is the sound realy the ball on the floor ??? made with some plug-in or somthing... or is a seperate recording combined later ???

i'm really intersted in adding sound to my work but don't know how.

About the animation... i like it very much ( the grid box is the coolest ). keep up the good work.

          Regards
          Bakbek.

what are the render time of that animation, and what are your machine specs?

im trying to do a render with glossies, and displacement and its pretty slow for me.....6mins a frame, on a AMD 2700+ 1GB ram. im trying to work out where im going wrong, maybe you could share some wise advice ?

            thanks

rendertimes about 5 min on a dual mp 2400+ .

the sound was mixed with the animation in a cheap and easy video programm. was just a first test, doesn´t fit very well with the animation now.

5mins per frame right? or 5mins total?

                5mins total is pretty quick.
What method did you use for the IR map?

ahhh ok cool, well that seems ok then heheeh

what IR method did you use, incremental? how did you set it up. I really need to learn that sorta stuff a tad better.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

no, because of the changing light and the moving object you MUST just single frame. add incremental is just usefeull for cam-animation WITHOUT moving objects or changing lights. i used high animation setings and high subd. for glossy reflection. without that you can cut down rendertimes, but 5min/frame ist quit okay.
