grazing sheeps - grass mats for vray

  • Odd thing is, there's a thread over at CGarchitect about how max5 is a bit faster than version 6 (which is what I'm running)...with the current "r" build of Vray and SP1 for 3dsmax6.

    It would be nice to find someone with a dual 2.8 setup similar to flipside's and who is also running 3dsmax6 to see if there's a difference, or if it's my PC (which I doubt).

            • Could it be that Flipside has more cache memory? For example 1MB versus 512kb?

              I think this can cause a difference, not sure though if it can be responsible for sucha huge difference.

                      with these settings i render @ 640x480 160sec (2:40min)
                      P4 P 2.8ghz 1mb cache
                      2gb ddr 400 transcendt

                      dunno, got 4 hards currently running in it and 360w power unit, will change that to 420 today
