  • Senseo Crema model

    HI everyone,

Here is a render of the Senseo Crema Coffee Machine sketchup model by Form Fonts.

I had problems applying the textures (wood and ceramic).

I had to rescale the model really really really small in order to see the textures at its right size. I can't find the way of make the textures appear bigger without having to rescale the model. Anybody experienced this too?

Anyway, I used IRR.MAP + QMC (medium settings plus noise threshold 0.001)

    Regards,

    Woods

    Hi Woods,

Nice rendering although i a m not fond of combination of colours you use.
I would add some more reflection (fresnel) to the tiling and also to the orange plastic.

    Concerning texture mapping:
Make sure that when you apply an image in a texture slot that you choose 'explicit map channel' (mapping). This way the mapped textures in sketchup will be preserved and no rescaling has to be done.

    Another thing.
I can see that the edges on the senseo coffee machine aren't smoothed.
did you smooth them in sketchup?
I don't know if the sketchup smoothing also shows in the vray renderings.

BTW, How did you get that time stamp on your renderings?
Where can i check this function 'on'?

    Keep up the good work.

      Hi biebel,

      Thank you for your commentaries.

I don't like very much the color combination either Just playing with the textures I have...

I applied the textures as 'Explicit Map Channel' over the faces without having any textures applied in sketchup. I guess that using linked materials should fix the problem but I still need to know why the textures looks so small when you create textures maps in the vray material editor.

I believe they are smoothed but I think it's more because it is a low polygon model. Yes, smoothing affects to vray renderings.

In the Frame Buffer Window you have an icon in the lower-right corner (two arrows) to show the Stamp Control.

The best workflow is to assign textures in sketchup first so you don't have to bother with uv-mapping in vray.
When you assign a texture in sketchup sometimes it looks also way too small and you have to adjust size.
The advantage of assigning textures in sketchup first is that you can see the changes immediately.

Thanks for the time stamp thing.

        regards,

Dealing with the texture scale, should we move to an other part of the forum 'cause I think we are a lot misunderstanding the way to proceed. VRay for Sketchup : Public ?
