This is a new yacht now in production. All renderings were done with Vray for Rhino (beta!). This was a few months ago and one of the images was used in this month's Motorboating magazine.

I especially like the shot looking into the boat. There aren't many small design offices that able to do this level of rendering- thanks Vray!

Glad to see that your having success using VRay for Rhino. The renderings look really great. I want to buy the boat now, but I don't make enough for things like that (buy more VRay )

All kidding aside we're glad that VRay can make a small office like your's stand out amongst the crowd, and that your able to get some exposure because of it. Keep us posted with other projects as well

        Thanks guys.

Micha- I should have credited you- you taught me almost all I know about Vray! My current renderings are better than the ones shown, but it will take a few months before I can post them.

All my renderings have been done with IM/QMC. I've tried the LC but speed is so important that I rarely slow down for LC. I think IM works great.

Is it your philosophy that you can create accurate materials and re-use them in every scene, varying the lighting? That's what I'm trying to do but it seems like I'm still playing with materials on every file. Is that what the material tester file is for?

Do you (or anyone) have any suggestions for Awlgrip paint material? This is the most common yacht paint- not as metallic as car paint. I've been using 2 reflection layers. It seems though that dark colors and light colors need different settings. I wish I could just change the diffuse.

        Thanks for everyone's help.

Could you send me your Vray options per email? I'm curious to see how you have setup IM/QMC.

Important is to use a gamma corrected workflow. Do you use the gamma 2.2/0.45 thing? Your webpage images are a little bit to dark on my screen.

Best you post a photo example or/and your material.
