  • some material test

    Hi,
Like "everydayobjects" made, here I've tryed to make a render with some materials.
From left to right : plastic transparent, plastic red, glass, porcelaine and emitter. First pyramidal : 2, combinated material with a bump map (no sure it works...) and a foreground pyramidal to test the DOF camera effect.
If anywone whants, I can put all of my materials and my render settings.
Cheers and wainting for the beta3!

      Pierre
I am interested with your material settings...
Can you also share your SKP.
As I said Correy today, those days I'll get more time testing.
Here are what I can say for now:
      Concerning materials:
I've got problem with transparent materials...they do not look like they are transparent mainly from outside. I used the preset "GREEN GLASS.
      OUTSIDE VIEW:
When I remove the refraction layer, it's better Shadows come inside the house but I can't see the inside materials on the walls.
      INSIDE VIEW
is very dark and no sun rays on the floor.
When I remove refraction layer, result is much better: Sun appears and image is brighter.
      AND WHAT ABOUT LIGHTS:
For now I can get a material to emit light...
And do you know how we can create lamps or spotlights in VRAY?
      LINKED MATERIALS
I think its a little bugged no? I tried to had some bump but doesn't apply at all. Added a reflexion layer, and the linked diffuse layer disappeared...Humm
      Soon I'll post some images.
      THANX

plastic red: did you use a red diffuse layer + reflection layer with fresnel and no color?

glass: set reflection layer fresnel + refraction layer + no diffuse layer

ceramics: fresnel reflection (no or less bluryness) + diffuse layer

Do you know user tutrial M - Material?

          Good luck.

            some material test

            Hi,
            Micha :
concerning Tutorial M, yes I know it.
Do you think it's possible to use frog settings in this beta2?...I heard no.
"Glass shelve with colored edges" does it works?
Actually, I think, it could be nice to do all this tutorial with VrayForSU.
"my plastic red" : I did not use a red diffuse. I used a refraction color and a fresnel reflection.

            archigrafix :
refraction layer : I think does not completly work.
"And do you know how we can create lamps or spotlights in VRAY?"...same : I thing you can only applicate emitter mtl for the moment.
LINKED MATERIALS : carreful : I had some pbs with scale.

I wrote an email to an admin to know how to put some files.

Especialy the interior ones! The hotel room is great rendering... Hope we soon be able to do such in SU.
What do you think about Vray for Su for now? Do you partipate at BETA concerning VRAY for RHINO by the time?
