Yeah, Not as cool or finished as the other ones. Just wanted a place to start putting my stuff since I'll be doing alot of it. Critique VERY welcome seeing as how I'm spanking new to the whole rendering thing. I know that some of the windows aren't working right, i already fixed it. And yes this is very preliminary. The timestamp was 1H 11M

    Here's a new interior bathroom. 14H 15M.

    nice rendering.

here's a comment about the architecture though. Would it be possible to have the barrel roof overhang in the front. Even just a foot. It looks very flat now compared to the hip roofs with thier overhang.

    Just my 2 cents.

ya know what. That's a damn good point. I'll have to see if that's possible structurally, but it would seem that some articulation there would tie the roof styles together better. Thanks

              Re: Brandt's Gallery

Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm guessing one issue could be the overlapping geometry in the scene. Overlapping geometry is something that will generally cause problems in V-Ray. Sometimes just increasing the secondary ray bias would be enough, but it appears there are some things sticking through some walls a decent amount, so I think more than just the ray bias will be required.

I'm thinking thats the main problem, because I even overrode all the materials with just a diffuse grey material and it was still rendering much slower than it should be. I also tried different GI engines all with the same result. So try making sure your geometry doesn't overlap and isn't co-planar.
              Best regards,

                Re: Brandt's Gallery

Ok - actually I just saw the biggest problem, beyond the overlapping geometry. When using the physical camera you shouldn't be adjusting your scene lights intensity to make it bright enough for the exposure - you should be adjusting your camera's exposure to fit the scene's lighting (generally). Your intensities for the rect lights are way too high. I think that is whats killing your render time.

By adjusting the speed of the camera and the other camera params you should be able to get the proper exposure without blowing out the lighting for your scene. I'll keep playing with the scene and send you what I come up with.
