  • Ando interior

Quick interior set up using a scene from Pushpullbar (Thanks Michel ;D)while introducing some design classics from 3D warehouse.

I had some trouble to avoid the outside getting burnt though..
Also, is there a way to render sky only? (meaning: no direct sun). I know I can tune sun strength in environment tab, but didn't succeed in simulating an overcast day.
    I used the 'default' sky.

    yet anoter beauty.. as usual..
    nice work chris...
have u messed with the color mapping option and the burn values??? maybe u can avoid those overburnt areas u get there...

      Thanks Jenu,
I used the 'Mado' settings but I will try it again with 'universal' settings (quasiMC for first bounce, Light cache as second bounce).

Next rendered image will have Reinhard color mapping (instead of HSV exponential) and the 'sun size' increased (= 100 instead of 1) . Looks promising and I will post the image when ready.

      Cheers,
      Biebel

Looks very good. The slight reflection of the chairs in the glass is subtle and adds to the realism. Maybe need to play around with the texture positioning on the concrete to avoid the little black mark keep repeating itself.
(I would have thought a sun size multiplier in the region of 5 or 10 would suffice)

        Very nice.

he he...Thanks for the advice, the '100' value was just a guess. I'll try lower values as well.

Very nice Chris. The furniture looks really good. Concrete looks good as well bar that litle repetitive mark in concrete. Also concrete reveals in windows on the left hand side image do not match paneling. Still very nice image.
How much of postprocessing did you do?

Indeed, the concrete texture has a strange spot repeating allover. Maybe I'll Pshop it out of the texture bitmap.
The Pshop post pro was limited to some levelling (and the use of 'screen'/'soft light' blending layers on top of the original layer).

Cheers and thanks for the remarks Sid....still waiting for your images here on the forum

                Re: Ando interior

the composition is very dynamic and provocative, the rendering is really good. the lighting is a bit burn outside, but playing lowering down a bit the sky multiplier will solve it. i will vote for 3 for the sun size, with that harsh sunlight having a little bit soft shadow is enough and second i think it will go together with the minimalistic architectural style. values higher than 5 looks dreamy to me. unless your having the model posted by "cold" before. once again chris this is again another masterpiece. i love the conrete.. yeah just use PS to removed those repetitive patterns.

Close-up on the Eames 'Wassilly' chairs. They don't sit...but they still are nice design pieces.

I used the 'Z-depth map' (can be turned on in frame buffer tab) to composite 'lens blur' (photoshop CS2 and higher):

I changed the furniture to some more 'comfy' version.

A quick try on the exterior.
I just loaded a grass texture.
It would be great if someone woud explain me the displacement (mostly what values to use)feature.

The face on the glass (window on the right) might have reversed normals as it doesn't seem to let through the light as much.
