        Re: exteriors

migz i think you are getting there. nice try for a start.

there are some key points i think you need to tweak.

        1. if you are using the vray sky/sun perhaps you should do some experimetnation on the effects of light.

        2. having said the above you can combine by looking on the vray camera.

you could perhaps just set a small box model for your test and do some comparison in tweaking them. immdeiately on your posted image. increase first the sun size so that you can have a smooth shadow. in vray the bigger the size of the lights the smoother the shadows, and the sun is just one type of light.

        3. you need to work on your texture (even me im struggling on this) the tiling of yur texture is very obvious. look for bigger size texture if you are applying it in big area. second use texture which are seamless.

          Re: exteriors

          sir alq..

sorry, ive been busy these days..getting excited about my interiors?..
..ill make it sure that ill make a better one than what u have posted..(very high-spirited!)..hahah..

          sir nomer..
its really overwhelming to find good comments in what i have posted..thanks..

ive tried to make a bigger sun prior to rendering that scene but all i am getting is an ice blue gradient overshadowing my model as if it is dawn..i think i made it way too big, am i right?...

..as for the texture..i followed the procedure made by micha (environment>hori>9) on creating grass..and that's what i got..i used 1024x1024 grass texture in that scene and the result was pretty bad..hehe..by the way how can u tell that a texture is seamless?

..ill further experiment as for what have u said..thanks and more power!

You need to set the texture in the texture editor as 'environment' - that should fix the tiling (provided that the image is big enough (note that michas image is very tall - spanning from ground to sky - and is narrow - hence the x9 horizontal multiplier)

            Good Luck

              Re: exteriors

              migz,

david has good point there. now i understand why the tiling is so obvious. i could really tell on the image that the grass is not seemless because you can see the square patterning. on the other hand the pavement is seamless, though repition is obvious, at least you cant see the square pattern.

as for the light, you need to adjust the size multiplier (sky) the default is 1 if you increase say 3, i think it will be nice IMHO.
