  • Direct lighting puzzler

I've been trying understand the rendering settings and read up on all the technical papers for vray, but don't understand what parameter is driving this effect. using some visop settings over others i get different direct lighting conditions.

both are ir map and Lc GI's. can anyone shed some light on this. (pardon the pun)

The problem is, that the environment settings are determinated by the save/load visopt settings. You don't change the quality settings only, you changed the env setting on this way.

PS: The "gallery" forum isn't the right place for this post and it can be overseen. Better use the "general" forum.

        Looks great.

Be careful, without small plastic caps, the thin leg ends destroy the ground.

The window in the background distract a little from the chair object, maybe a DOF effect could be good.

cheers cstuartpaint, yeah i'm a product designer, though i didn't really design that chair strictly speaking its just something i modelled for that test scene. i doubt you could even sit on it. (watch out for that leg protruding around the groin area!) hence why i was also too lazy to model the caps on the end of the legs as micha noticed. i'm currently reworking my portfolio. i'll post some v-ray stuff for critique when i get a chance..
