          displacement is a hit or miss affair for me... i cant get consistent results with it... hoping for a fix.. (hint.. hint.. )

            Yes you are right Jenujacob. It's a hit and miss alright! I hope the AGVIS team re-address this issue. I think the displacement and bump settings are essential to good rendering. Furthermore, I think they should deal with the HDRI environment settings in Vray for SU.

                  Camera - Default camera(on), Physical camera(off), Depth of field(off)
                  Output - 800x600
                  Environment - GI & Background(off)
                  QMC Sampler - Adaptive amount(0.9), Min samples(8 ),Noise Threshold(0.01), Subdv Multi(1)
                  Displacement - Edge Length(4), Max subdv(1000), Amount(1)
                  Indirect Illumination - GI(on), Reflect Caustics & Refreact Caustics(on)
                  Primary engine - IR map
                  Secondary engine - LC
                  IR MAP - HSph(40), Samples(25)
                  Caustics(off)

                  Materials:
                  Statue - color(white), intensity(3), transparency(218, 218, 21, reflection glossiness(.85).
                  Neon green - color(128, 255, 0), intensity(2), trasparency(197, 197, 197), reflection glossiness(1, 1),

                  FURBALL
                  concrete wall - displacement(1.5) with displacement map and diffuse map.
                  Furball - displacement(2), with diffuse and displacement map inverted.

                  CARPET TEST - same as grass test except using different diffuse and displacement maps and altering the displacement multiplier from (1 to 1.5). Render options are the same as grass test except the gulfball test.

                        welsh this is really a brilliant and one of the most important thing that you have found out in using displacement. my dispalcement is on and off also but when i group it it works... many people here will owe you here about displacement.

                          True Nomer. I too did not know we have to group it to enable it to work consistently. So far, so good. Nevertheless, the ASGVIS team should address this problem. Thanks Welsh!
