Re: living room
Hi luuanh..(etc..)
First thing: WELCOME ;D
Not so bad at all, for being your first shots!!! My compliments!
But you've chosen such a difficult subject to start with: even a pro would have a lot of work to do with the number of complex material i see here!! My opinion is that you try setting mats in much simpler scenes, if you want to improve and not to lose many many time.
In your work here i see a very interesting green material: i don't give if it's plastic or plaster, it's nice, to me..
A fine work is done with the white bricks: i love them! Maybe they're a little too reflective, i would turn this down a bit..
I must say i don't love your chairs too much: perhaps the models are a little low poly for the accuracy of the scene: try looking for better pieces of furniture, if you can..
Water is a little weird: i think a simple TGS with a smart bump will do the trick
Last but not least, the plants are SU weak points (sigh..): i'm trying to make them real myself (it's such an hard task..).
Hope my critics will help you a little on your way to reality!
Cheers!

Re: living room
This is quite nice work for your first postings! like it was said before there are a few areas for improvement.
The wood texture needs to be addressed since it is all going the same direction even though the structure itself is going differently. It is a small thing but does stand out.
The water does draw your eye away since it does not look right.
One last thing is the green painted wall could use a bit less reflection.
Overall you should be very happy with this though.
If you are looking for models of any kind you can look at www.formfonts.com.
Best regards,
Scott

Re: living room
luu,
of course i know you Mr Cat.
one thing really i admire on these images is the flow of space from inside out....
the post process is good. the lighting is Excellent. Tv reflection, center table glass.. very good.
there some things that you need to look at...
1. your blurry reflections.... these one will really kill your render time. are they really necessary to do apply this in all most of your materials (ceiling, pictures) although they are nice, the tendency is it will create much noise... while im saying this, i myself doesnot really know how to decrease the noisy effect using IR+LC combo. (anyone???) of course my quick guess is reducing the noise, but maybe there are some other workaround.
2. texture. especially the wood grain, in reality, those wood grain will never be parallel. (wood frames). Those pillows were just so reflective.
3. Plants. need to put better texture... there is also another plant coming out from the wall. (image2)
overall Good Job.
