  • Help

Hi guys, I've been working on this render and I havent reached that level of realism that I wanted...so needless to say I'm a bit dissapointed and would like some feedback. Any comments would be nice and if you guys need the scene just send me a message. But I'd really like some help...i'm frustrated!

    p.s. Happy New Year!!

      Re: Help

looks good to me. I think that it may not look as real as you would like because its so clean but if I was trying to pitch a design like this i would want it to look really clean so I to me its great.

          Re: Help

          Looks quite good.

The ground looks a little bit unreal white and glossy. Most, grounds are darker than white walls. You could add a light random low noise bump, so that the ground dosn't look so perfect (cloud rendering filter of photoshop could create a map).

An other problem could be the frontal light from the front opening. The light goes in direction of view, that cause a flat look. Maybe it's good to dim the intensity of the env or to add an area light from right side front dir.

Also try to keep the background and the area around the model clean. Avoid the sun light effect at the foreground, it cause confusion. Maybe you turn the sun direction so, that it come from the back or back-side direction. The physical sky cause a color gradient at the room, from the ground over the walls to the ceiling - that's good for realism.

Try to set a thickness for walls, ground and ceiling. For me, the zero-thickness boost the unreal-look too.

Use small gaps between furniture and ground/walls. So, you get a better disconnection between the objects.

Your light surfaces are looking very homgenious. Try to simulate the effect of lights behind the surfaces. You could modify your textures or work with a double sided material and a light behind the surface.

Your surface light seems to emit perfect white light. Maybe you could give a light color to this lights like from bulbs or tubes. Try to find reference photos.

Do you use the physical cam? Is the vignetting effect enable? This effect is nice for a photoreal look too.

I hope some hints helps a little.
