  • testing with N64 controller

    Hi all,

This is my first post on the great ASGvis fora.
Today's tet subject was a Nintendo 64 controller.
It took quite a long time to render (about 53 min, but I guess that's due to the DOF?)

I also noticed another thing while configuring my setup:

When I rotate a mirror ball HDRI image 180 degrees things suddenly get quite nasty. Sometimes this really causes bad reflections on surfaces. What have I done wrong?

    greetings,

Nice image. DOF should not cause so much longer render times, because the fore- and background dosn't show any image information and Vray stop the sampling there early.
Coulkd be a question of the general setup.

HDRI: your shown expolsion effect looks like the typical mirror ball effect. It has nothing to do with Vray. I suppose so, that your HDRI show the explosion effect.
I use long-lat (spherical) HDRIs most. You can find some good one here:

Thanks for the HDRI tip, Micha. With a sperical mapping everything is running smooth now .
I did some further testing as well.
